I am a father of two and launching my 2nd career as a first responder. I volunteer each week to provide no-cost training for active-duty Firefighters (also available to Police, EMS, ERT, SAR, and CAF). Built on 20 years of experience as a strength and conditioning Coach with a background in Ironman, CrossFit, Power Lifting, Olympic Lifting, Swimming, Cycling and Running.
The name Big Rig Engine Co. comes from my time in pre-service bootcamp, where I was given the nickname “Big Rig.” Paired with my approach to training—building human engines—it stuck.
What:
B.R.E.C. is hard, tactical training.
I will push you—safely—outside your comfort zone and build you into the level of athlete the job demands.
Your goals drive the work.
Every session is structured, intentional, and built around you.
Why:
As an aspiring firefighter, this work connects me to the community I hope to serve with one day. Through B.R.E.C., I learn from those doing the job and build meaningful relationships with first responders who put others first every day.
But most importantly:
Every year, firefighters are injured or killed in the line of duty—and a significant number of those cases are tied to cardiac events, fatigue, and physical strain. Fire service data consistently shows that cardiovascular strain, fatigue, and overexertion are major contributors to line-of-duty injuries and fatalities.
These risks aren’t theoretical—they’re part of the job.
Training needs to reflect that.
That’s why this training exists.
Your family, city, department and team depend on you to be strong, fast, and reliable. When you’re on my roster, I build you up so you can meet—and exceed—the demands of the job.

BIG RIG ENGINE CO.
STRONG. FAST. RELIABLE.
B.R.E.C. Fitness STandards Worth achievING.
These benchmarks represent a well-rounded level of strength, endurance, and durability required to handle the physical demands of the job.
It’s not meant to be elite—it’s meant to be capable.
These are goals, not the ceiling.
Once you meet them, the work doesn’t stop—you maintain it; the real flex is to remain injury-free.
